Teen Mentoring Program

The Teen Mentoring Program pairs youth with caring adults who take an interest and make a commitment to invest in their lives. Mentoring programs are effective in helping to build and restore self-esteem among youth. Programs nationally have shown improved school attendance, less aggression and violence, improved parental relationships, and a positive attitude toward helping others. Caring adults, role models and positive community interactions are developmental assets that are typically missing in poor and central city neighborhoods.

There is a growing isolation of youth in urban communities, along with an increasing number of single parent families. These factors have created a tremendous need for mentoring programs to help youth avoid risky behavior and to secure hope for their future. City on a Hill is launching a Teen Mentoring Program to become a part of the solution, to help fill the gap and restore assets for positive youth development.
